Winston "The Original De Fosto Himself" Scarborough on Wednesday evening paid tribute to the late Lord Kitchener with a tune dedicated to him on the 11th anniversary of his death. Titled "In She Rainorama" the tune forms part of his latest CD, Closure.

At the launch of the CD which took place at the Mas Camp Pub, Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook, De Fosto said the song was dedicated not only to the late Road March King but to his wife Valerie Green and her children.

De Fosto premiered his music to an audience of calypsonians that read like a "Who's Who" in the industry. Supporting acts like Elsworth James, Brother Resistance, Luta, Funny and Karega Mandela built up the anticipation for De Fosto, who burst onto the stage around 10 p.m. with an energetic set of his latest compositions.

These included "Desperadoes Going Down", "Dr Rowley, "His Excellency Chief Servant Makandal Daaga" and "Bailout Time". The latter gave rise to much discussion as it describes a political party which stole a lot of money, the members of which should be in jail. In the calypso he does not name the party but his antics of how the party members would have to bend down in jail had the audience in stitches.

Edwin "Crazy" Ayoung ended off the night's performances well after 2 a.m. and is also featured on the 14-track disc, which is now available in stores and on www.trinidadtunes.com.

During his set, De Fosto thanked guests for their attendance and support and saluted various individuals in the audience for their contributions to the artform and to culture in general.
