1. Asa Wright Nature Centre - Pack up all the kids into the car and head over to the beautiful Asa Wright Nature Centre, located in Arima, where children can learn all about nature and the country’s flora and fauna. The Centre also has a restaurant where you can grab lunch after your tour. Make sure to take along some refreshments as you walk through the canopied forests and view the many different bird species. 3. Harry’s Water Park - Get ready for oodles of fun in the sun at Harry’s Water Park in Rio Claro, where kids can have the time of their lives racing down water slides and the facility’s newest feature, a wave pool. 4. NIHERST National Science Centre - From star gazing to 3D printing, the NIHERST National Science Centre is worth a visit to stir up your child’s love for all things science. 5. Safari Eco Park, Chaguaramas - The Safari Eco Park is a great way to get kids to meet, interact with and learn to appreciate wildlife. The park features llamas, zebras and ponies, kangaroos, even rabbits. Make sure to pack some sandwiches and maybe a crispy-cold Ginger Ale to keep your team on top of the game. 6. Emperor Valley Zoo - The Emperor Valley Zoo features a much wider range of animals and has the added benefit of being right in Port of Spain. For a small fee, children can enjoy and learn about wild animals, and even feed Nelson or Mandela, the zoo’s famous giraffes. 7. Jungle Jam - Located in Port of Spain, this indoor gym and play space for children is a great way to get them to exercise and burn off some energy. The centre also hosts events for birthday parties and other special occasions for children. Find out more at www.junglejamtt.com.

The El Socorro Centre for Wildlife Conservation - This centre does a twofold job of treating and helping injured animals to return to the wild, as well as conducting educational sessions for adults and children about the importance of conservation. 10. C3 Centre - During the holidays catch some of the season’s mega blockbusters at the brand new C3 Centre in San Fernando.
