March 8th Feb. to 29th Mar. - Bocas Lit Fest We Lit Project Carnival Theatre Workshop facilitated by Ellen O’Malley Camps. , notable theatre actor, producer, director and writer. The workshop is free and is open to young people 20 and under. It will feature seven sessions covering topics such as Carnival traditions and character building, scriptwriting, costuming, and performance skills. Participants will be exposed to the stories and symbolism behind iconic Carnival figures, while honing their creative and theatrical skills..The workshop ends in a live showcase at the 2025 Bocas Lit Fest, where students will have the opportunity to bring their characters to life and share their creations in a Carnival play. 15th Feb. to 13th Mar. - Sweet T&T Arts Exhibition at Studio Joli, 21 Henry Pierre Street, St James, Port of Spain; 5 pm to 8 pm. 19th Feb. to 25th Mar. - The Heritage Library Division of the National Library and Information System Authority (Nalis), in collaboration with Women in Art Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago and the Lewis Collection, is hosting a Carnival Exhibition titled 'The Guardians of Tradition: The Art and Legacy of TT Mas' at the library (23 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain).

21st Feb. to 14th Mar. - The Central Bank Museum is hosting its first exhibition for 2025, from Chantuelle to Calypsonian: Celebrating 90 Years of Female Calypsonians in Trinidad’s Commercialized Calypso Tents. This exhibition is a collaborative effort between the Central Bank Museum and the management of the Divas Calypso Cabaret International.

26th Feb. to 14th Mar. - Tracey Alonzo's Exhibition entitled 'Pulse of the People: The Spirit of Calypso, Steelpan and Mas' at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ASTT), 3-7 St Vincent Avenue, Federation Park, Port of Spain. Other artists featured in that exhibition are Sabrina Charran, Marcus Ellis, Tessa Alexander, Solomon Armstrong, Dominique Telfer, Markus Pohlman, Yvette Paul, D Evans, Elizabeth Chong, Ryan Sinanan, and Maria Reyes. Opening hours for that exhibition are Tuesdays to Saturdays from 12-6 pm.

26th Feb. to 14th Mar. - Tracey Alonzo's Art Exhibition entitled 'One Spirit, One Stage' Arnim's Art Galleria, 27 Tragarete Road, Newtown. On display are three pieces by Alonzo - Savannah Lime, Moko By D' Square, and Twinkle-Twinkle All Stars. There are also pieces from other artists including master watercolourist Donald 'Jackie' Hinkson, Sundiata and Carissa Bruce.   • 1990 - Prime Minister taken hostage in failed fundamentalist coup.
  • 2010 - Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar was sworn in on May 26, 2010 as the country's first female Prime Minister for Trinidad and Tobago
  • 2024 - Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley made an announcement at a Post Cabinet Media Briefing at Whitehall (Thu. 18 Aril 2024) that Emancipation Day (1st August) will be renamed to African Emancipation Day.
  • note #1: In the late 18th century both Trinidad and Tobago were cultivated and effectively administered by the French, under an agreement with the Spanish. It was during this period that the French started the plantation system on both islands and began importing the requisite slave labor.
